38th Annual Galveston Island Oktoberfest
Attention all Stella Mare RV Resort lovers. Grab your beer steins and put on your lederhosen. Because it’s time for the annual fall celebration of all things German at the 38th Annual Island Oktoberfest, in Galveston County, Texas.
Savor delicious Great Wurst Abendessen (German Sausage Dinner), Schweinebraten (Roast Pork), and sip some foamy traditional suds, like: Spaten or Paulaner as you say “Prost,” (the German equivalent of saying “cheers”) to your new found festival friends.
A huge part of the Galveston Island’s Oktoberfest vibe are the upbeat songs to sing along with or dance to, like German Oompah, (Not Polka!). Either way the music, food, drinks, and great times all around will leave you gasping for more!
Children will enjoy the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, a Chicken Dance contest, Helmut’s Austrian Strudel and Donald Gangl’s Apple Cake, and a smorgasbord of other mouth-watering treats.
Everyone will enjoy the food, music, dancing, and live music that will delight all comers.
This year’s event will be a two-day fun-filled fest hosted by First Lutheran Church, on October 25th through the 26th. This year’s Galveston Island Oktoberfest will be held on 24th Street (between Church and Ball) and Winnie Street (between 23rd and 25th Streets). This area will be closed to traffic beginning Thursday, October 24th at 9 am and will reopen on Sunday, October 27th at 12 noon.
