Your Holiday Camping Trip Awaits
Leave the snow and ice in your rearview mirror while you escape to Galveston. The winter holidays are much better in south Texas and Galveston has its fair share of holiday fare to make you want to make us your home-base for the holidays.
Area Holiday Attractions while Camping
Starting on November 16 many of the Winter Wonder Island events begin. One such event is Ice Land: Pole-to-Pole at Moody Gardens. Take in the incredibly skilled ice carvings like the 100-foot long giant glacier slide, and to create a winter journey from the North to South Pole.
Also, the Festival of Lights at Moody Gardens starts on November 16, and runs thru January 12, 2020, for the 18th year running. The holidays commence with the twinkling of two million festive lights, the chill of the area’s only outdoor ice-skating rink and the wonderful views glistening across Galveston Bay. And don’t miss out on Shivers Ice Bar, featuring ultra-cool holiday spirits.
Thanksgiving on The Gulf
It’s time for turkey, parades and football – not necessarily in that order. You’ll be happy to know that there are a number of amazing restaurants happy to serve you. There are some notable outstanding dining options, like the Hotel Galvez Bar and Grill and Moody Gardens Garden Restaurant. Just be sure to book well in advance as seating is limited.
